IMBCS #3

Hello all,

IMBCS presented by Kia of Des Moines race #3 is coming up this Sunday, May 7 at Camp Ingawanis, near Waverly, IA. If you are not familiar with the course at Camp Ingawanis, it has some of the best mountain biking trails in the region. The course has a lot of everything, including technical singletrack, challenging climbs, fast descents and some very fast flat sections. Carl Buchanon, Jeff Kerkove and a few others have put a lot of work into the already existing trails to make the course even better than in years past.

Due to the heavy rains this season, the course will be confined to the north side of the creek. The course will consist of a lap that will be in the neighborhood of 6 – 7 miles. Parking and the race start area will be at the north end of the camp.

Take highway 3 east out of Waverly. Turn right (south) on 39th St. SE. Head south on 39th St. SE to Grand Ave. Continue south on Grand Ave until you get to the main gate, 2485 Grand Ave.

Racing will start at 8:30, with beginners going off first, followed by the scout class at 10. The Pro / Semi Pro / Expert class will start at 11, followed by sport at 11:05. There will be free food and water for all participants. Camping the night before the race is free to all participants. There might also be cabins available, for availability, contact Carl Buchanon at (319) 939-1795.

Registration opens at 7:30 for all classes. Entry fee is $25 per racer, cash or check only please. Expert class will payout cash for the top five finishers.
