IMBCS #2

Hello all,

IMBCS #2 presented by Kia of Des Moines is coming up this Sunday, April 23 at Seven Oaks Ski Area, near Boone, IA. If you are not familiar with the course at Seven Oaks, it is one of the best mountain biking venues in the region. The course has a lot of everything, including technical singletrack, challenging climbs, fast descents and some very fast flat sections. There will also be about 1.5 miles of new singletrack cut on the back side of the hill, giving a total of about 7 miles of trail per lap.

Take highway 30 west out of Boone. Take the first left turn after you cross the Des Moines River onto CR R18 (L Avenue). Head south for about ½ a block and turn right on 222 Dr. Seven Oaks will be on your left on 222 Dr.

Racing will start at 11:00, with experts going off first, followed by sport and beginners at 5 minute intervals. Experts will do 3 laps, sport will do 2 and beginners will do 1 lap. There will be free fruit and water before the race. After the race there will be free lunch and beverages. Camping the night before the race is free to all participants. Registration is the day of the race and opens at 9:00. Entry fee is $25 per racer, cash or check only please. Expert class will receive 100% entry fee payback for the top finishers.
The race coordinator is Kyle Sedore and can be contacted at (515) 238-3841. He can be reached the day before and the morning of the race for any questions.

We will also need some volunteers for course marshals at various locations throughout the course, so if you can help out, it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Kyle Sedore at the above phone number. There will also be parking available at the top of the ski hill that will provide easy access to a number of great spectator points along the course.
